A red + and a black - alligator clip connected through a wire lead to another red and black alligator clip.
Basically like micro-booster cables.
Free up hands testing continuity, bypass things, etc.

Sooooper useful.

I don't know where mine came from, I must assume the alligator clip gods sent it to me.

I have a few smaller size capacitors in my ~40yr old amp and the problem with them is the lamination, or plastic skirt on them appears to have slid down by a few mm's.
Almost the appearance on one end like puckering up lips, with a raised skirt on the other end.

These caps seem bad, but then again, it's only a tease.

Anyone familiar with this?

NPN - Arrow ---- Never Points iN    Base is positive
PNP - Arrow ---- Points iN Pal        Base is negative

The arrow indicates old fashioned + to - flow.

Think of a 'BEe' line or 'BE' (Base  Emitter) a charge on the Base (the switch) flows to the Emitter (the BEe line) and then allows a charge path bridge between the emitter and collector.

A photo Resistor is almost the same, but the switch is light, not a charge on the base.

Multimeter sez voltage happens when guitar is plucked when multimeter probes are on the RCA jack, drive side.
Shaking amp produces spring sound through the speaker.

Leads from inductors in reverb tank are re-soldered, and both inductors read ~170 ohms, there is no wire break.

Have the little magnets lost their poles from the speaker magnets up above?
Also tried different positions of the tank, up, down, sideways.

I have hit the wall, I need help.

The amp is an old 1970's Randall Commander 1, the reverb unit model # is 4fb2a1a.

So my tremolo (reverb too) doesn't work.
There is 0 V going to the opto-coupler, something is stopping/resisting/cutting off the power.
I figured maybe the 'mps 6522' transistors, but then I stumbled upon someone in internet land stating that a difference in values from bad caps could make tremolo not work.

Should I just re-cap the tremolo section of the schematic?
