The noise is a consistent hiss that doesn't change with control movement. It reminds me of a white noise generated noise. It's there from the moment I turn on the amp until I turn it off. The tech cleaned all the contacts and pots but there was no change. I'm wondering if this is just the technology of the day and that it was something you had to put up with. I'll try and record some and then post it.

I have a 20 + year old Jazz Chorus 50 that has a consistent background noise. I've had it checked by a tech and he couldn't find anything wrong.

Is this noise the norm for the Jazz 50? Is there any processing that could fix this noise issue?

As a newbie I don't know enough to be dangerous so any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
