Title: My second project!
Post by: martyfriedman86 on October 13, 2006, 09:49:20 AM
Hi everyone
I finished my first project and I'm on my way to a second one
I'm trying to build this metal pedal :

http://www.diystompboxes.com/pedals/mtlsim.bmp

but got some doubts about it
first, it says "hfe-170" and "hfe-225" next to the transistors. what should I do to obtain such gain?

Well, those are silicon transistors, so they're pretty consistent in gain so you shouldn't have any problems. You can always use sockets and try several different transistors in there.

You'd be surprised how often it is a crappy pot causing problems.  No worries, we won't hit you  :P

Tried to hit you and cracked my monitor. ???  But seriously that is an interesting Fuzz Face type circuit.  I haven't seen that one before.  I like the gain control and the tone knob at the end is cool.   Let us know how this sounds.  If I have time I may bread board this one.  Thanks for the schem.
