maestro Gibson mfz

Does anyone know when the maestro model mfz fuzz was put into production? I can't find it anywhere. We have one and thought it was purchased in the late '60s. This  shouldn't be confused with the fz-1 which goes to '62-ish ? I've run into a brick wall.

There are collectors Forums which can discuss such things for pages and pages.
Here it's more of the "it doesn't work, what can I do now?" thing.
