Power supply for LM1875 chipamp
« on: March 30, 2012, 03:00:25 PM »

Building a chipamp based on a LM1875. I'm using 2200uF caps in the amp circuit and a 34.5vac transformer. Really the only question I have is what size filter caps to use after the rectifier.

A couple 2200uF caps will be fine.
If you want to use 4700uF ones instead, it won't hurt.

Thanks a ton! Just about have everything soldered except those and a power switch and led. Should be quite the little jammer!

Enjoy it, I found that I liked the sound of the LM1875 better than the LM3886.  Not sure why as both should be totally "clean" and not "coloring" the sound at all.
