I've been playing death metal and grind for about 12 years and I've finally found my "holy Grail" tone! I've been running an ampeg vh-150 and an ampeg ss-150 into two Marshall 1960 cabs with a boss eq pedal in front to help clean up the lows a bit (I tune to b standard) and I have to say that for the music I play no other amp setup I've ever used (engl powerball, sodano avenger, countless 5150's) has even come close! I have truly become a pure SS amp disciple! Now I can't seem to stop myself from collecting a mountain of randalls from my local craigslist! Even with the randalls though I can't seem to find a better sounding rig than this one!
